Postdoctoral positions are available to work on experimental and/or computational synthetic biology projects in the Department of Chemical Engineering and Materials Science at the University of Minnesota.
For the wet-lab positions, experience in standard methods of molecular biology and biochemistry is required. Experience in synthetic biology and/or flow cytometry is desirable. Applicants should have or expect to receive a doctoral degree in biological sciences, bioengineering, or other related areas. The objective is to engineer synthetic bacterial communities that produce biodiesel.
For the computational positions, applicants should have or expect to receive a doctoral degree in computational sciences (chemistry, biology, physics) or engineering or other related area and have experience in computer simulations of biomolecular systems. The objective is to continue developing and using SynBioSS (www.synbioss.org) to design synthetic biological systems.
Applicants should send a C.V. along with the names, e-mail addresses and phone numbers of two references to: Professor Yiannis Kaznessis, Department of Chemical Engineering and Materials Science, University of Minnesota, 421 Washington Ave SE, Minneapolis, MN 55455 or e-mail to email@example.com
